Where is LFAK ?

Dunkerque and the french Flanders. The airfield is located along the border with Belgium, between the villages of Ghyvelde and Les Moëres, approximately 5 kms / 3 statute miles south of Bray-Dunes, the nearest resort on North Sea french coast.

(See map on the right side ===> ) Bray-Dunes is definitely the shortest ride from LFAK for a lunch along the beach. A bit farther, Dunkerque and more specifically the district of Malo-les-Bains, feature a casino and a lineup of bar and restaurants along the beach, called "la Digue de Mer".

The "Office de Tourisme" is in charge of promoting tourism in Dunkerque area. Check Dunkirk tourism web site for a virtual tour enhanced with photos (panorama), webcams, activities, maps, etc. and do not hesitate to use their "contact" page to request more information.

Flying to LFAK: Yes You Can !

LFAK, the airfield of Dunkerque Les Moëres welcomes visiting foreign pilots. It has a 640m 25/07 grass runway, and a tarmac to park your plane (check the VAC using the link provided below). There is no landing fee so far. 100LL is available to visitors when the ACB office is opened (check "Contact" page for hours). The airfield is managed by the aeroclub, a benevolent association; therefore preliminary arrangement is required if you need assistance from the ACB.

Some information for foreign pilots

> Customs: as of June 2019, if you are flying inbound from a european country of the so called "Shengen space", you can land directly to LFAK. If you are flying from a "non-Shengen" state (like the UK, for instance), you must first land at an airport where french customs have an office, like Calais (LFAC) or Le Touquet (LFAT), with Prior Notice required. For procedures and up to date informations, look for "Customs" in the "Miscellaneous" part of french airports Visual Approach Charts  (see link for VACs below).
